How to plant plantains? What are the precautions?

Plantain is also called plantain. The leaves of this plant are very large and wide, and the growth speed is relatively fast. Generally, plantains prefer places with dense forests, and the soil must be fertile. Such places are suitable for the growth of plantains. Banana has thin skin and more meat, and the taste is fine and smooth. Eating it often can appetize and help digestion.

Cultivation techniques of banana

1. Land selection and preparation: banana cultivation land shall be in a cool, humid and fertile place, with ditches, ridges, dikes, dams and ponds, especially depressions. If slope land is selected, the place with thick soil layer and good source of water and fertilizer shall be selected. When preparing the land, loosen the soil and break the soil blocks, so as to spread the 'riding whip' (i.e. underground stem) after planting and grow in time.

2. Transplanting time: the transplanting of banana by stump is generally carried out from late autumn to early spring of the next year, because at this time, the banana is in the dormancy period, and the transplanting by stump has little damage to the plant and is easy to be planted alive. When dividing the stumps, select the new stump stems from the riding whip in the plantain forest that has grown for more than 5 years. Walking whip should be around the plant, because such walking whip has developed fibrous roots and strong soil force. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid cutting off the horse whip, and 2 ~ 3 annual stems are required on each stump.

3. Transplanting method: when transplanting banana, the number of stumps and stems planted in each nest should be adjusted according to the land conditions. Generally, 2 ~ 3 in each nest at the bank and embankment and 1 in each nest in the depression. Because the depression is cool and humid, the water and soil conditions are good, and the plants are easy to grow. When planting, the stump and stem shall be placed upright in the previously dug planting nest. After placing, it can be filled with a small amount of fertilizer mixed with finely crushed pig, cow and sheep manure.

4. Post planting management: after planting banana stumps and stems, they should be covered with straw, thatch or plastic film to prevent freezing injury. When the earth warms up, uncover the cover. Fertilize and cover the soil once a year within 3 ~ 4 years after planting to promote breeding and growth. Fertilization and soil covering shall be carried out when the earth warms up and the heart leaves begin to grow in spring. Pig, cow, sheep manure or soil miscellaneous fertilizer shall be finely divided, evenly sprinkled on the stumps and stems, and then covered with fertile soil. More manure should be applied to barren plots, and less manure can be applied to fertile plots. In addition, livestock should be prevented from trampling and eating when young stems begin to grow.
