Huashan Mountain Climbing tips

If you want to go to Huashan Mountain climbing, then what you should do is to think of a good route and prepare climbing equipment, so that you can climb more safely. Let's introduce the related matters about Huashan Mountain climbing.

Route

Huashan has five peaks: East, South, West, North and middle. In addition to the north peak and West Peak, there are Cableways to go directly to them. There are many ways to go up the mountain. You can go up the mountain on foot from 'Huashan Road since ancient times' or' Zhiqu Huashan Road '. You can also go up and down the mountain through the cableway of Beifeng or Xifeng. In addition, Huashan also has such popular high-altitude challenges as "long sky plank road" and "kite turning over". The queuing time on weekdays is about 2 hours, and there are more people on holidays, so if you want to play thoroughly, one day is not enough. Huashan tickets are valid for 48 hours. If you have time, it is recommended to play for 2 days. If you only have one day, you have to make a choice.

Next, I recommend six optimal climbing routes for different groups of people:

Route 1: two day tour of Huashan (full hike)

Specific route:

Day 1: Huashan Road (hiking) - North Peak - South Peak (long sky plank road) - West Peak (Sunset) - East Peak (starry sky), Sudong peak (camping or staying in a hotel)

The next day: Dongfeng (sunrise, Yaozi turning over) - Zhongfeng (cloud ladder) - Beifeng (ancient Huashan Road or outwitting Huashan Road) (walking down the mountain)

For the crowd: free tourists, strong donkey, have 2 days, want to play Huashan thoroughly, want to measure Huashan with feet

Route 2: two day tour of Huashan

Specific route:

Day 1: Huashan Road (hiking) - North Peak - South Peak (long sky plank road) - West Peak (Sunset) - East Peak (starry sky), Sudong peak (camping or staying in a hotel)

The next day: Dongfeng (sunrise, Yaozi turning over) - Zhongfeng (cloud ladder) - Xifeng (Taihua cableway descending)

For the crowd: free riders, who are physically strong, have two days to play Huashan thoroughly. They don't want to miss the beauty of "a road to Huashan since ancient times" and the challenge of hiking up the mountain, and they also want to enjoy the ease of going down the Xifeng cableway

Route 3: climbing Huashan at night

Specific route: Huashan Road from ancient times (walking up the mountain) - North Peak - East Peak (watching the sunrise and turning over the kite) - South Peak (Changkong plank road) - West Peak - North Peak - Huashan Road from ancient times or outwitting Huashan Road (walking down the mountain)

For the crowd: free travelers, strong donkeys, want to challenge themselves, don't mind not seeing the beautiful scenery on the way

Note: from yuquanyuan to Dongfeng sunrise viewing platform, it takes 5 hours for strong donkey and 7 hours for general physical strength. If you don't want to go down the mountain on foot, you can go down the mountain from Xifeng cableway. Note that the last time to go down the cableway is 19:00.

Route 4: climb Huashan (go up on foot, go down by cableway)

Specific route: Huashan Road (hiking up the mountain) - North Peak - middle peak - East Peak - South Peak - West Peak (Taihua cableway down the mountain). If the time is too late or the strength is too low, you can abandon middle peak and East peak in the middle and go directly from North Peak to south peak

For the crowd: free travelers, with certain physical strength, can walk up the mountain, but the time is limited, and they need to go back and forth on the same day

Route 5: cableway route - up West and down North

Specific route: Taihua cableway uphill - Xifeng - Nanfeng - Zhongfeng - Dongfeng - Beifeng - Sante cableway downhill. If the time is too late or the strength is too low, you can abandon Zhongfeng and Dongfeng in the middle and go directly from Nanfeng to Beifeng

For the crowd: team tourists, poor physical strength of free travelers, the elderly, this line is basically downhill, the most labor-saving, but has a certain impact on the knee

Route 6: cableway route north up West down

Specific route: Sante cableway up the mountain - North Peak - middle peak - East Peak - South Peak - West Peak - Taihua cableway down the mountain. If it is too late or too weak, you can abandon middle peak and East peak in the middle and go directly from north peak to south peak

For the crowd: Group tourists, free travelers with slightly poor physical strength, elderly people who can walk uphill and step road, from the north peak to each peak is uphill road, need some physical strength, but compared with all the way downhill, the knee will bear less pressure

Of course, Huashan has other routes, such as going up and down in the west, going up and down in the north, and so on, but it needs to take a repeated route, which is not the optimal route. I will not recommend it here.

Mountaineering Equipment Guide

1. Clothes: wear quick drying T-shirt on the upper body and trousers on the lower body in summer; In winter, the upper body adopts the outdoor traditional three-layer dressing method, which is to wear sweat fast drying thermal underwear close to the body, fleece jacket on the middle thermal layer, assault suit on the outermost protective layer, and sweat fast drying thermal autumn pants and assault pants on the lower body. A lot of sweat will occur during mountain climbing. Cotton clothes are not easy to dry when they are wet. If they are pasted on the body, their body temperature will be taken away quickly. The wind at the top of the mountain is very cold. Wearing wet clothes to let the wind blow is especially easy to cause temperature loss. If you don't wear the right clothes, even in summer, there will be loss of temperature. Therefore, when we are outdoors, we must wear fast drying clothes, and pure cotton clothes are taboo. The warmth retention of fleece jacket is not as good as that of down jacket, but once the down jacket is soaked with sweat, the warmth retention performance will be greatly reduced, and the good perspiration function of fleece jacket makes it always keep warm. The excellent water-proof clothing and pants can resist the moderate rain. With the waterproof climbing shoes, you can not bring rain gear. Every 1000 meters above sea level, the temperature drops by 6 degrees. The temperature at the top of Huashan Mountain is 10-12 degrees lower than that at the foot of the mountain, and the wind is strong. It's very cold when you watch the sunrise at the top of the mountain. It's suggested to bring a down jacket and wear it when you watch the sunrise. There are those who rent military coats on the top of the mountain, and those who don't have thick clothes can rent them. Don't be reluctant to spend money to freeze yourself sick.

2. Footwear: mountaineering shoes or sports shoes. I'm wearing lowa high top mountaineering shoes. In fact, as long as it doesn't rain, ordinary sports shoes are enough for the steps in scenic spots like Huashan. If it rains, the waterproof function of the uppers and the antiskid function of the soles will be reflected. It is recommended to wear mountaineering socks, which can keep warm and sweat fast. If there is no mountaineering socks, sports cotton socks can also be used.

3. Mountaineering bag: 20-30l, mountaineering bag has better carrying system and function than ordinary backpack. The belt at the waist can share 70% of the weight of the backpack, which can effectively relieve the pressure of the shoulder. The two belts at the shoulder and waist are fastened at the same time, which can increase the stability of the backpack. The quick hanging system allows you to quickly access common items.

4. Gloves: when climbing Huashan Mountain, whether it's to grasp the iron chain or to use 'four-wheel drive' like me, gloves are indispensable. I am wearing professional climbing gloves. The palm of my hand is designed with anti-skid function. There are many elder sisters selling gloves at Huashan gate. Labor protection gloves cost 2 yuan per pair and climbing gloves cost 5 yuan per pair. The price is reasonable.

5. Magic headband: multifunctional outdoor products. In winter, when climbing and hiking, I usually use it to make scarves and masks. When climbing the second peak of Siguniang mountain, I used it to wear ponytail. This time I climbed Huashan Mountain, I wrapped it around my wrist to wipe sweat.

6. Kneepads: Huashan is basically a step road, which costs a lot of kneepads. Kneepads can give better support to knees, especially when walking down the mountain. I didn't wear knee pads this time. As a result, the pain in my right knee bothered me all the time.

7. Headlamp: it is mainly for night climbing tourists. The advantage of headlamp compared with flashlight is that it can liberate hands. For example, in many places of Huashan, you need hands and feet to climb up.

8. Rain gear: if you don't have a stormsuit, you'd better prepare a disposable raincoat for mountain climbing in summer. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable. It's not recommended to take an umbrella. You don't have an umbrella in your hand when you climb the mountain, and it's heavy and takes up space when you put it in your backpack.

9. Sunscreen products: the sun in Huashan is very strong, and there is no shade in many places, so it is very important to apply sunscreen before going out. Sunglasses and sunshade hats can be prepared according to personal preferences.

10. Food and water: the food is mainly small and light high calorie food, such as bread, chocolate, Snickers, beef jerky, nuts, sugar, etc. On the way to mountain climbing, I saw many people eating self heating rice and eight treasure porridge. I strongly oppose taking these two kinds of things because they are very heavy. In the process of mountain climbing, we must reduce the load. Each person has two bottles of mineral water, and the rest are bought on the mountain. On the way to mountain climbing, it costs 10 yuan for three bottles, 10 yuan for two bottles, and 10 yuan for one bottle. The more you go up, the more expensive it is. But don't worry about money. Remember to reduce the load. Along the way, you can use an empty bottle of mineral water to pick up the cold water. It's 2 yuan a bottle, which is much better than carrying water from the foot of the mountain.
