Why can UAVs interfere with airplanes?

In recent years, although the popular UAV provides a lot of convenience, it also brings a lot of harm. This new product has no regulations to control it, so it causes a lot of problems, especially flying near the airport, which is more dangerous!

[multiple flights of Chongqing Airport were affected by UAV interference] from 19:20 to 21:37 on May 12, Chongqing airport was interfered by UAV, resulting in multiple flights alternate or return, and flights returned to normal at 21:37. About 34 minutes later, UAV interference occurred again at Chongqing airport at 22:11, and flight take-off and landing were affected again. At 23:37, Chongqing airport began to resume taking off and landing. The UAV interference caused more than 40 flights alternate, more than 60 flights cancelled, more than 140 flights delayed, and tens of thousands of passengers were affected.

UAV intrusion will cause serious flight safety hazards

Since the beginning of this year, UAVs and other flying objects have repeatedly intruded into the airport clearance protection zone and hindered the flight operation safety in many domestic airports, and the problem of UAVs' black flight 'has become more and more serious. The disordered flight of UAV is very easy to interfere with the normal operation of military and civil aircraft, and may even lead to flight accidents, causing losses to the country and people's lives and property.

According to relevant experiments, a bird weighing 1.8 kg collided with a high-speed aircraft, and the impact force was greater than that of a shell. The weight of a general consumer UAV ranges from 1.5kg to 150kg. It is usually made of hard materials. If the UAV collides with a high-speed aircraft, it may seriously cause the tragedy of aircraft destruction and human death. In addition, it may endanger the safety of people and property on the ground.

UAV relies on wireless signal for data transmission. In flight, control system, automatic navigation system, automatic driving system, landing device, communication equipment and so on of civil aircraft are vulnerable to the interference of wireless signal. Aircraft take-off and landing phase is the most vulnerable to impact and threat. At this time, if there are 'black flying' UAVs in the no fly zone of the airport, no matter signal interference or collision events, it will cause aircraft system failure or even loss of control, resulting in catastrophic accidents, and the consequences are unimaginable.

"Black fly" will bear criminal responsibility for serious consequences

It is understood that according to the "basic rules of flight of the people's Republic of China", all flights must be applied in advance and implemented after approval.

There are three hard and fast conditions for UAV flight and business: to obtain the training and qualification certificate of civil UAV system pilot, to apply for flight area from military aviation, and to apply for civil aviation flight plan. One of them is black flight.

In addition, the "Regulations on the administration of civil airports" stipulates that in the airport clearance protection area, it is forbidden to release birds that affect flight safety, and it is forbidden to lift unmanned free balloons, tethered balloons and other airborne objects. If the violation is serious, a fine of not less than 20000 yuan but not more than 100000 yuan will be imposed, and criminal responsibility will be borne if serious consequences are caused.

On May 10, Chongqing Public Security Bureau issued a notice to strengthen the flight management of civil unmanned aerial vehicles. The notice requires that those who use civil unmanned aerial vehicles for flight activities in Chongqing Administrative Region must abide by relevant laws, regulations and rules. Meanwhile, it also makes clear the areas where civil unmanned aerial vehicles are forbidden to fly.

Chongqing airport also reminds the general public to consciously abide by relevant laws and regulations, and prohibit flying UAVs, birds, kites and other objects that affect flight safety within the airport clearance protection zone.
