Causes of Teddy's skin disease:

(1) Endocrine disorder hair removal

This kind of depilation can occur in all kinds of dogs, its early changes are pigmentation, dandruff, sparse hair, etc., followed by depilation, symmetrically distributed in the dog's abdominal rib, chest and thigh. At present, thyroid hormone, adrenaline and gonadal dysfunction are common.

1. Due to the depilation caused by the decline of thyroid function, the dogs often show drowsiness, fatigue, obesity, infertility, cold intolerance, dry and rough skin, sparse coat and hyperkeratosis.

2. Due to adrenocortical tumor and excessive secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone in adenohypophysis, it is caused by long-term use of corticosteroid. Depilation dogs often show excessive diet, frequent urination, urine specific gravity lower than 1.020 (normal value is 1.015-1.050); muscle atrophy, fatigue, fat tubular distribution, abdominal circumference increase; skin thinning, obvious epidermal vessels and abdominal folds. Calcium and pigment are deposited unevenly on the diseased skin.

3. Dysgonadism can be seen in testicular podocytoma in male dogs. However, the depilation of female dogs is usually associated with ovarian cysts. Repeated depilation rehabilitation cycles can be seen in dogs, accompanied by breast and vulva enlargement.

Diagnosis is mainly based on clinical and hormone content determination, but the latter is more difficult.

The treatment of testicular podocytoma in male dogs requires orchiectomy and oral or injection of testosterone. The ovaries or uterus should be removed from both sides of the female dog with ovarian dysfunction. Thyroxine was used for 4-8 weeks. The dosage of thyroxine increased in the first 2 weeks and decreased in the later.

(2) Trichophytosis

Etiology and clinical symptoms

Tinea is caused by skin conditional pathogenic fungi (also known as dermatoderma), which can cause damage to the epidermis, hair and claws. There are three kinds of dermatoderma that can cause disease in dogs.

1. Microsporum canis has been found in dogs for a long time and only produces slight inflammation. About 50% of canine ringworm diseases are caused by Microsporum canis.

2. Microsporum gypseum is a kind of soil fungi. Warm climate occasionally causes tinea canis, but the inflammation and infection are self limited.

3. Microspora mentagrophytes mainly cause canine secondary tinea, and mice are the main carriers.

Dermatoderma is mainly caused by hyphae invading the hair column, hair follicle and cuticle, resulting in hair removal and dandruff, which mostly occurs in the head, feet and legs.

diagnosis

① The dog hair infected by Microsporum canis showed green fluorescence under wood's lamp.

② The scraps were digested with potassium cyanoxide solution, and the fungus seeds were observed under microscope.

③ When the diseased materials were inoculated on Sabouraud's medium and cultured at room temperature for 1-2 weeks, the colony of Microsporum canis showed yellow basal surface and fine curly hair; the ground of Microsporum beardii was brown medium and covered with fine particle colonies; the gypsum like colony of Microsporum was yellow leather like; Black or blue colonies were contaminated fungi. When phenol red was added to Sabouraud's medium, the colonies which could turn the medium red could be diagnosed as dermatoderma.

treatment

The first choice is griseofulvin. The daily dose is 15mg / kg. High fat food is fed to promote intestinal absorption. The local application of clotrimazole and other antibacterial agents can be eliminated

(3) Demodicidosis

Local infection of Demodex is common on the face and legs. Most dogs are chronic. A few dogs develop deep tissue purulence. The changes of skin inflammation of Demodex mainly include the following two situations: 1

① The local hair is sparse or completely depilated, the skin is thickened, the dandruff increases and turns black, and the swollen hair follicles can squeeze out wax like sebum.

② Damage hair follicles and deep dermis, because of itching and make skin ulceration or flesh through swelling, secondary bacterial infection become pyoderma.

treatment

It is difficult to treat a large area of Demodex infection. During the treatment, the hair of the inflamed area and the surrounding area should be cut off first, and the focus should be cleaned with alcohol. Large areas of inflamed area should be bathed with sulfur soap or shampoo to remove the surface of the diseased skin. Local use of low toxic, efficient and permeable drugs, such as shishiheji, shiyuji, etc

5% dichlorvos, Trichlorfon and other smears are expected to be cured. It has been introduced abroad that local smearing with 0.75% alcohol rotenone has better curative effect. If dogs are accompanied with bacterial infection, local or full use of antibiotics should be considered.

How to prevent:

1. A healthy and balanced diet. Many owners of Teddy dogs dislike that it costs too much to raise a teddy dog, so they deduct money from dog food and choose a dog food with low price and no guarantee of quality. As a result, the nutrition of Teddy dogs can not keep up after eating. Not only will they not grow healthily and healthily, but also their own resistance will decline. This is the main reason why Teddy dogs suffer from skin diseases. For the Teddy dog who has suffered from skin disease, the owners must ask experts to provide scientific and nutritious dog food for the Teddy dog according to the physical condition and severity of the disease. This can not guarantee that the Teddy dog can get comprehensive nutrition, but also improve its own immunity.

2. See the hospital in time. Because there are many reasons for Teddy dog to be infected with skin diseases, when they find their own Teddy dog skin diseases, the owners often observe for a few days to see how the situation is, but they don't know that they will miss the best time to treat the disease. Some owners will buy their own medicine for the treatment of Teddy dogs, and the consequences are very serious. Therefore, it is suggested that the majority of Teddy dog owners should take the dog to the hospital for treatment when they find that the dog has skin diseases.
