Why do touch screens respond to human touch? How does a touch screen work?

Touch screen is another innovation of computer input technology. As long as you use your finger to tap on it, you can complete 'information input' and 'give orders', which is very convenient. Touch points on the touch screen correspond to a 'function switch'. When the finger touches the switch area, the corresponding 'function program' will start immediately and execute a series of preset commands.

Why do touch screens respond to human touch? How does a touch screen work?

The key technology of touch screen is to measure the accurate position (i.e. coordinates) of the touch point. Taking the 'surface acoustic wave touch screen' as an example, it is equipped with horizontal and vertical ultrasonic transmitters in the upper left corner and the lower right corner respectively, and two corresponding ultrasonic receivers are equipped in the upper right corner.

During the operation of the touch screen, the ultrasonic transmitter always emits ultrasonic wave. When people touch the screen, the fingers block and absorb part of the ultrasonic wave, so that its energy is attenuated. At this time, the ultrasonic receiver can calculate the coordinate value of the finger, so as to get the accurate position of the finger and make a response.
