How do children use drugs? Three iron rules of children's external medicine

The three disciplines of children's external use of drugs are the first. Do not use stimulant drugs.

Children tend to be active and prone to trauma. When disinfecting wounds, they usually think of "red potion", "Purple potion", alcohol, iodine, etc.

Alcohol is easily absorbed by the skin, and the liver of children is not fully developed, which may cause liver damage, so it is not suitable to use alcohol for large-area wound disinfection. Iodine wine is a kind of disinfectant by "iodine" and "alcohol", which is irritating to some extent, and even corrodes the skin if not used properly. The effective ingredients of "hongyaoshui" and "ziyaoshui" are Mercury and Jiazi, both of which have certain toxicity, and should be avoided for children.

Relatively speaking, iodophor is the most suitable disinfectant for children's traumatic wound. The effective component is organic iodine, which has less irritant and toxic side effects. At the same time, it has a long duration of action. It is one of the most widely used disinfectants in medical institutions.

Second, the number of drug use should be reduced.

Impetigo is a common skin disease in children in spring and summer. It may need the help of mupirocin ointment.

In general, adults use it three times a day, usually five to seven days as a course of treatment. Children do not need to reduce the dosage deliberately, but the number of daily medication can be less than 3 times according to the situation.

In addition, when the drug is not used, it should be placed in a place that is inconvenient for children to get, so as to avoid misuse.

Third, the coating should be thin and uniform.

Calamine lotion can be used to assist the treatment of eczema. It should be shaken fully before use, so as to ensure the effective ingredients are even. When daubing, it should completely cover the affected area, and it should be thin and even.

If the drug specification does not provide the recommended dosage for children, it can be estimated according to the formula (children's dosage = adult dosage × children's body surface area / 1.73). Calculation formula of body surface area: body surface area (M2) = body weight (kg) × 0.035 + 0.1. This formula is suitable for children under 30 kg. For children with a weight of more than 30 kg, the body surface area increases by 0.1 m2 for every 5 kg of weight gain; for children with a weight of & gt; 50 kg, the body surface area increases by 0.1 m2 for every 10 kg of weight gain. Uneven coating will affect the efficacy and increase the probability of adverse reactions.
