The world's oldest newlyweds are over 194 years old

On June 13, 2015, British newlyweds George Kirby (1912.6) and Doreen Kirby (1923.9) were married in East Sussex. By the end of the day, they were 194 years old and 80 days old, becoming the record holder of Guinness world record [oldest newlyweds - Total age].

In 1988, the two got to know each other through an activity of making friends for the elderly, and formally got together two years later. Previously, both had a marriage. But the children of the two old people encouraged the relationship and persuaded them to get married. Finally, with the company and blessing of all the children and grandchildren, the two old people ended their 27 year long love run and married. The wedding was warm and romantic.

George said in a media interview: 'being with Doreen makes me feel young and energetic, and I'm very confident that we will support each other for the rest of our lives. '

On June 4, 1927, a couple from Norway, Karl dolven (1897.8) and Gudrun Haug (1900.10), were certified as the oldest couple. By the time Gudrun died in April 2004, their combined age was 210 years and 65 days.
