On October 1, 1949, on Tiananmen Square, Beijing, the birth of the people's Republic of China was solemnly announced to the whole world. 19. The longest sea railway in the world. In 1953, China built a sea embankment between Jimei and Xiamen in the southeast of Fujian Province. The railway built on it is 5032 meters long and 19 meters wide, which is the longest sea railway in the world.

20. The world's first discovery of dinosaur ancestors. In 1981, a fossil of furongosaurus edentulus, the ancestor of dinosaurs, was discovered in Furong Town, Sangzhi County, Western Hunan Province, China. It is more than 200 million years ago. This fossil is 3 to 21 meters long and 1 to 06 meters high. This is the first time that this kind of keel fossil has been found in the world. It has important scientific value for the study of vertebrate evolution.

21. China is the first test tube flower in the world. 29. The country with the most weather radars in the world. Since 1967, Beijing Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, Shanghai Institute of organic chemistry and Shanghai Institute of cell biology have jointly carried out the research on the synthesis of yeast alanine transfer RNA.

This ribonucleic acid is composed of 76 ribonucleotides. In July 1977, one of the fragments, 16 ribonucleotides, was first synthesized successfully by the combination of chemical synthesis and enzyme catalysis. It was in the leading position in the world at that time. At the end of 1980, 41 nucleotides, the half strand of yeast alanine tRNA, were synthesized in China, which made China keep a leading position in nucleic acid chemistry.

33. The first synthesis of human proinsulin C peptide in the world. In 1981, the Shanghai Institute of biochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences cooperated with the Navy General Hospital of the people's Liberation Army to complete the artificial synthesis of human proinsulin C peptide for the first time, and established the radioimmunoassay technology, which made the research of artificial proinsulin C peptide in China enter the world's advanced ranks.
