The harm of drinking alcohol to women and the risk of breast cancer increased significantly

Does drinking increase the risk of breast cancer? Breast cancer is a common breast disease, and it can even be said that this disease makes women panic. So, what is the reason for women suffering from breast cancer? Some studies have found that drinking can lead to women's increased risk of breast cancer. Is that so?

A new study found that women who are at risk of breast cancer and drink alcohol have significantly higher breast density in mammography than women who are also at risk of breast cancer but do not drink alcohol.

Given that mammography density is a strong risk factor for breast cancer, researchers speculate that the risk of breast cancer may increase among high-risk drinkers.

This conclusion can be applied to breast cancer counseling. Women who are already at high risk of breast cancer should consider reducing alcohol consumption.

Previous studies have suggested that drinking is related to mammography density, but researchers want to study the influence of existing risk factors of breast cancer besides drinking on drinking and mammography density. To do this, they studied 53000 Swedish women aged 40 to 70, and assessed their risk of developing breast cancer within 10 years based on the tyrer cuzick score.

The researchers found that the higher the alcohol consumption, the higher the breast density of the women with the highest risk of breast cancer within 10 years, which is predicted to be at least 5% according to the tyrer cuzick model. These women accounted for about 15% of the total study. Compared with high-risk women who did not drink alcohol, the absolute dense volume of high-risk women who drank 20-29.9 g per day was 4.6 cm3 higher than that of high-risk women who drank 30-40 g per day, and 10.8 cm3 higher than that of high-risk women who drank 30-40 g per day. In low-risk women, the more drinking, the higher the density has become a trend, but there is no such trend in middle-risk patients.

According to the 2012 edition of the American Cancer Society's nutrition and exercise guidelines for cancer prevention, women should not drink more than one drink a day. It is unclear whether the proposal will apply to women with the highest background risk.

"Our data show that about 85% of women can drink one glass a day, but at the same time, they should avoid the increase of breast density, so as to avoid the increased risk of breast cancer
