The world's first self portrait from 1850

Now it's very easy for us to take selfies. We can take out our cell phones at will, and the resolution is not bad. But in 1850, it's not a simple thing to take photos if you want to.

As shown in the picture, I saw this picture from Oscar rjelander, a famous Swedish photographer. He was a portrait painter in his early days, but later he transformed into a photographer. This picture can be traced back to 1850, nearly 200 years earlier than the modern self portrait boom.

At present, the photo has been sold for 70000 pounds (about 697906.28 yuan) at the auction. The photo was originally in a leather hardcover album. It is said that rjelander was sold to a navy officer at that time, and then it was sold to a seller 100 years later.

The seller didn't know the value of the photo album at all, and offered 100 pounds (about 997 yuan) to the auction house to get rid of it. Unexpectedly, the seller sold it at a price of 700 times, which was totally unexpected.
