They were awarded the title of revolutionary martyrs by the Ministry of public security, and thousands of citizens spontaneously came to see off the heroes. At about 14:00 on May 1, a fire broke out in a high-rise residential building on Longwu Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai. Firefighters Qian Lingyun and Liu Jie fell from the 13th floor due to the impact of flashover and heat wave. They were sent to hospital and died bravely.
