ZTE official: sales ban is misreading

Original title: MediaTek announced the resumption of ZTE's shipment, which was previously thought to follow the US sanctions against ZTE

Gu Dawei, chief financial officer and spokesman of sihai.com, said today (April 4) that recently, Lianfa has obtained the license for exporting goods to ZTE approved by relevant authorities in Taiwan, and the shipment between the company and ZTE has returned to normal.

On April 27, Cai Lixing, chief executive of MediaTek, said that the Taiwan government had asked MediaTek to stop selling chips to ZTE. This makes the outside world think that Taiwan is following the US sanctions against ZTE.

However, MediaTek soon clarified that the online statement that MediaTek stopped selling chips to ZTE was a misreading. Lianfa branch applies for the export license of relevant products according to the routine process of the competent department. This kind of work occurs every month and involves many countries and enterprises. It is not aimed at any enterprise.

On the 30th, MediaTek further said that it was actively preparing to submit applications, and had the chance to re ship to ZTE within 2-3 weeks at the earliest.
