Google, a technology giant, released the white paper "Google search predicts movie box office". Google has calculated the box office data in 2012 and compared it with the statistics of Google movie related search, as shown in the figure below. A graph comparing the total box office of each month in 2012 with the search volume related to each month. As can be seen from the figure, the two curves are very close. Maybe this will be another case of big data usage.
