The first batch of images released by gaofen-1 satellite include the pictures of Yinchuan, Beijing,

Recently, the first batch of satellite photos taken by gaofen-1 satellite, which was developed by China itself, was transmitted back. With the release of the first images of gaofen-1 satellite project by the national defense science and industry administration, the mystery was finally revealed.

So, what level can the high-resolution satellite developed by Chinese people reach? What convenience can the high-resolution satellite bring to us? Yesterday, with the release of the first images of "gaofen-1" satellite project by the State Administration of science, technology and industry of national defense, the mystery was finally revealed.

Under the clear sky, red, black and white … … cars flow on the road, but there are few cars parked in the new station square of the railway station. Outside the Helan mountain stadium, which is similar to the bird's Nest stadium in Beijing, diamond shaped floor tiles are shining in the sun. This is Yinchuan, one of the first images sent back by gaofen-1 satellite, known as "space telescope".

Wang Chengwen, director of the major special center of the State Administration of science, technology and industry of national defense: this image of Yinchuan was taken when the 2-meter panchromatic, 8-meter multispectral camera and the 16 meter resolution wide camera were working at the same time. It was an image taken to test the ability of "gaofen-1" to work in multiple modes at the same time.

In the first batch of returned images, in addition to Yinchuan, there are three cities, Beijing, Shanghai and Datong. They are two meter panchromatic, eight meter multispectral, two meter panchromatic and eight meter multispectral fusion, and 16 meter multispectral. There are 13 pictures in total. Gaofen-1 satellite first started imaging on April 28 and sent down data. Up to now, it has acquired 160 multi orbit image data.

As China's first low orbit remote sensing satellite with a design and assessment life of more than 5 years, gaofen-1 satellite is equipped with two high-resolution cameras with a resolution of 2m panchromatic / 8m multispectral and four multispectral wide-band cameras with a resolution of 16m.

There is an old saying in China, 'don't work on porcelain without diamond. Because of the diamond camera, gaofen-1 is worthy of being a high-resolution satellite

Wang Chengwen: now remote sensing technology has developed to be able to identify not only wheat and rice by spectrum, but also different varieties and brands of rice. We can fully identify them in hundreds of kilometers of space.

High resolution and large wide picture are often a pair of 'friends' -- with time, spatial resolution is difficult to achieve, but' high score No. 1 'is a surprise:

Wang Chengwen: the outstanding feature of this satellite is the combination of medium and high resolution and large width. Our 800 kilometer and 16 meter resolution cameras are at the leading international level.

Xu Wen, director of the resource satellite application center of China Aerospace Science and technology group, said that the precision and imaging ability of gaofen-1 was even more proud:

Xu Wen: according to the scientific plan, this camera can make 14 orbits around the earth every day. The imaging time can be two or two-and-a-half circles in our country, because half of the pictures on some sides can be taken at home, half of the pictures can be taken abroad, and the whole can be imaged four circles.

Agriculture, environmental protection or land and resources will all be places where gaofen-1 satellite can show its strength. Wang Chengwen takes the example of "film enforcement" by the Ministry of land and resources to check illegal land use. Gaofen-1 is like a surveillance camera installed in the sky, a real "sky eye". With gaofen-1, the "film enforcement" will be upgraded again, and lawbreakers will never hide:

Wang Chengwen: if he mines in violation of regulations and goes out of the area, especially many mining areas are sparsely populated, it's also very difficult for them to monitor and manage in the past, and law enforcement officers in some places can't come here. After satellite monitoring, all these red lines are drawn in the monitoring system of the Ministry of land and resources. As for the illegal exploitation by some criminals, our satellites can find it completely. In Beijing, we can directly control the monitoring order of national mineral resources.

Xu Wen introduced that in the follow-up work of gaofen-1 mission, ground system calibration and geometric precision correction will be carried out, and it will enter the application test stage around July 16

Xu Wen: users of agriculture, land and environmental protection set up some standard sample points on the ground. After my comparison and imaging, he gave quality and application evaluation. Around September, this satellite should be officially put into use.
