How to make your Petunia blossom to burst!

Petunia family in the hanging Petunia is a model of grass, is an indispensable landscape in the garden. When they erupt, they attract everyone's attention. So how can a seed as big as dust become a big flower ball with a diameter of 50 cm?

One of the secrets: autumn sowing.

Sowing in early autumn or buying seedlings in mid autumn is the most important factor. Generally, sowing at the end of August can be selected, and seedling block and seedling three piece set can be used. It takes about 7-10 days for autumn sowing and germination. Before germination, it does not need to be exposed to the sun. After germination, it should be exposed to the sun step by step. The seedlings can be planted for the first time after their roots are full of seedling blocks (about 20 days). (I usually omit the step of sowing, because sowing costs a lot of time, time and energy. If it is not allowed, I choose to buy plug seedlings directly from September to October.). In this way, it will be difficult for the plants to reach the effect of flowering before the spring explosion.

Secret 2: strong sunshine.

The first time to plant or purchase 128 plug seedlings, generally with about 12 cm small basin on the basin. After planting in the basin, sufficient sunshine should be ensured, and the water should be alternately dry and wet. After the branches are full of the basin, planting can be carried out. Choose a flowerpot with a diameter of at least 25 cm or two flowerpots with a diameter of 40 cm to ensure the growth space. The whole life cycle of dwarf cattle needs sufficient sunshine. Without sunshine, the plant will grow excessively and spend less. In Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, dwarf cattle can spend winter in the open air as long as it is not freezing in winter. If there is a sunshine room, the temperature should not be too high as far as possible, otherwise it will blossom in advance before the branches grow and flourish.

Tip 3: topping.

The second factor is topping. After removing the top advantage, it can promote the lateral branch germination. The more lateral branches, the more main flowering force. The first pinching and topping is usually carried out when the seedlings have six true leaves. After that, every time the lateral branches grow to six leaves, the topping is carried out once. Two leaves are pinched off and four leaves are left, which is abbreviated as "pinching two leaves and leaving four leaves". At the beginning of March, after the last pruning of plant type, a pot with compact branches began to take shape.

Secret 4: high phosphate fertilizer.

Dwarf cow is a kind of flower that needs fertilizer very much. From the end of February, it can be irrigated with growing liquid fertilizer once every 7-10 days; when planting, it can be added with long-term fertilizer such as chicken manure or slow-release fertilizer; from the beginning of March to the whole flowering period, it can be irrigated with flower liquid fertilizer once or twice a week.

Secret 5: strong cutting.

Petunia is a flower that grows very fast. Of course, fast growth means that it decays quickly. The only way to keep it blooming crazily is to cut it. The vigorous growth period of dwarf cattle is June, July, August and September. It will be forcefully cut once every three weeks, and it will be full of flowers about 10 days after forceful cutting.

Before the cold wave strikes on October 20, it will be cut 3-4 times, mainly in July, August and September. If you cut it for two years, you can make it strong.

The flowering period of Petunia is usually from mid April to the end of June. After every heavy rain, the rotten branches and leaves should be cleaned up. At the end of June, prune the whole plant type, leaving 15-20 cm of main branches. About 20 days later, you can enter the second flowering stage. The second flowering period can last until September. In case of strong wind and heavy rain, the sun may shorten a little and recover in autumn. Petunia can open for two years. It is suggested that it should be replanted after the next summer to ensure the healthy and strong plant.

The growth cycle of dwarf cattle is the same as that of many products. The first stage is the introduction stage, in which the seedlings (or self sown ones) are planted, pinched and reshaped, and begin to breed a large number of flower buds; the second stage is the growth stage, in which the flowers begin to bloom, and many flower buds gush out, and continue to open; the second stage is the mature stage, in which the whole pot of flowers is in full bloom, and each bud is in full bloom; the last stage is the decline stage In this period, there are more flowers that fail than buds, and the longer the plants grow, the more scattered the plants are. Although they are still prosperous on the surface, they are actually dead in name. In this period, we should not hesitate to cut the dwarf cow. The harder we cut it, the better the flowers will bloom. If we wait until this period is completely over, the flowers are completely failed, and the plants are withered, the dwarf cow will probably die Whoops.
