The seed of iron tree usually blooms from the end of spring to the beginning of summer. When the seed is ripe in autumn, the germination rate can reach more than 95% in the same year and only about 20% in the next year. What should we do when planting seeds? The following is a brief introduction to the specific methods. Temperature requirements of iron tree seed planting basic knowledge: people like to be warm, spray water to cool down in summer high temperature season, move indoors in late October in winter, keep the room temperature at about 10 ℃, and leave the room in the middle and last ten days of April in spring.
Light requirements: the iron tree likes light, so it needs to be kept outdoors in sunny places all the year round. If the light is not enough for a long time, the growth of new branches will be weak and slender, which will affect the ornamental effect.
Water requirements: Iron tree more drought resistant, general visual soil dry after pouring, if too much water, it is easy to rot root bad leaves. Generally, it is once every 10 days in winter, 3-5 days in spring and autumn, and once in morning and evening in summer.
Fertilization requirements: in the growing season (spring and Autumn), the fertilizer should be applied 3-4 times a year, the fully decomposed cake fertilizer water or human manure should be applied, and the appropriate amount of ferrous sulfate should be added to the fertilizer, or the "humic acid flower fertilizer" sold on the market should be directly applied. Regular fertilization can make the leaves evergreen and glossy.
There are two ways to plant the seeds of iron tree with beautiful plant type
1. Seed treatment: before sowing, soak seeds in thermos flask with 50 ℃ warm water for 12 hours, pour out and spread for 1 hour, and then change the same water temperature to add 0.1% ferrous sulfate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and then put them into thermos bottles for 12 hours before sowing.
2. Sowing method: pot sowing is adopted, covering soil for 2cm, and germination can be achieved in two weeks under high temperature of 30-33 ℃. The seedlings can be transplanted after 2-4 years of cultivation.
2、 Sand storage treatment, sowing on demand the following spring:
1. Seed treatment: select plump seeds no more than two years, soak them in warm water at 50 ℃ for 24 hours, then soak them in dilute hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse them with water. When the seed coat is fully absorbed and expanded, the seed coat is peeled off manually, the pulp is washed off, and the seeds are stored in the air;
2. Sowing method: before and after December, the seeds should be stored in sand. The prepared seeds should be seeded into the bed with a depth of about 3cm, and then covered with river sand with a thickness of 3cm. Generally, it takes 4-6 months for sand storage. During this period, the suitable temperature should be 18-25 ℃ and the relative humidity should be 80-90%. The heat preservation in winter should not be lower than 12 ℃. From May to June of the next year, the seeds sprout and break out of their shells, and a true leaf sprouts from July to August.
In spring, cutting off the old leaves at the lower part can reduce the diseases and insect pests and is conducive to the germination of new leaves.
2. In summer, when the light is strong, spray water on the leaves.
3. In autumn, the application of phosphorus and potassium increased the tree vigor and improved the ability of disease resistance, insect resistance and cold resistance.
