Propagation of Dishui Guanyin: Branch sowing and cutting

Dishui Guanyin does not have high requirements for soil, but it grows best in sandy loam or humus loam with good drainage and organic matter. Here is a detailed introduction to the reproduction methods of Dishui Guanyin.

The propagation method of Dishui Guanyin

Every summer and Autumn Festival, the tuber of Dishui Guanyin (taro) will sprout small seedlings (buds) with leaves, which can be divided by turning basin and changing soil.

2、 The method of seed propagation

When the fruit is ripe after autumn, the orange seeds shall be collected and sown along with the harvest, or dried and stored, and sown after the next spring.

3、 Methods of Cuttage Propagation

1. Cutting time: dripping Guanyin (taro) is suitable for cutting in spring, summer and autumn.

2. Cut from the base of the plant about 5cm away from the excavated surface.

3. The old stems can be cut into branches about 15 cm in length, and then they can be planted in sandy loam soil after being placed in shade for half a day.

4. During the cultivation of the old plant, due to the wet environment or the early and late water spraying maintenance in summer and autumn, the old stem occasionally sprouts a few new plants (especially on the stem base left after the cut-off treatment), and a lot of air roots are attached, so the upper pot planting can be broken off from the junction of the daughter plant and the mother plant.

matters needing attention

1. In the growing section, after cutting off all the formed leaves, the plant will be put into the basin directly. The cutting and cultivation will be carried out simultaneously. After two months of cultivation, a large, closely branched, short, strong and vigorous shaped plant will be formed, which is quite elegant indoors.

2. During the cutting period, the water content of the substrate (6 sand: 4 garden soil) should be maintained, and the air humidity should be increased. Many thick roots can grow in about 7-10 days.
