Breeding methods and precautions of Begonia: overwet and easy to rot, pruning and flowering

Begonia is one of the most popular flowers in China, so many people have raised it at home, most of which are four seasons Begonia. So how are begonias raised? What's the best way to breed? What should we pay attention to in aquaculture? Please read on with me with questions!

Breeding method of Begonia: the best breeding time: if it is sown in July to January, it can bloom in October to May; if it is sown in February to April, it can bloom in June to July.

The best growing soil: the mixture of river sand, rotten leaf soil and snake sawdust is the best. Crabapple is afraid of the heat all year round. It should be kept in a cool place in summer.

Requirements for growth humidity: Begonia like mild and humid climate. It is suitable to keep the basin soil dry and wet. If it is too wet, it is easy to rot roots. If it is too dry, the leaves will wilt. If it is slightly wet, it is OK.

The optimum temperature for the growth of Begonia is 15-20 ℃, 15 days and good rotation. Due to the influence of temperature, the growth of summer and winter is slow, so it is necessary to strengthen the management of fertilizer and water. In the hot summer season, measures should be taken to avoid strong direct light and cool down to create a small environment below 30 ℃.

The best growing light: in the hot summer season, we must avoid the direct light of the four seasons Begonia, which will burn the four seasons Begonia.

Notes for breeding Begonia: fertilizer application: during the growth period, fertilizer should be applied according to the plant leaf color and the growth of the leaves. Excessive fertilization is not allowed, otherwise, the leaves will grow in vain, affecting flowering. Appropriate P and K fertilizer should be applied before flowering to improve flowering quality.

Breeding points: in East China, April to may in spring and August to September in autumn are the most suitable. The seeds should be evenly removed and sown on the fine mud in the basin (no need to cover the soil). Then use the basin bottom water absorption method to absorb enough water, and then cover a piece of glass and put it in the half shade, 10 days later it will germinate. The seedlings sown in spring can bloom in autumn that year.

Pruning tips: another characteristic of Begonia maintenance is to pick the heart. It is the same as jasmine, rose and other flowers. When the flowers are withered, it is necessary to trim the residual flowers and pick the heart in time, so as to promote more branches and flowers. If the work of pruning is ignored, the plant is easy to grow thin and long, the plant shape is not very beautiful, and the flowering is less.

Watering points: water in the morning and evening in summer, and around noon in winter. Do not water too much, do not water the soil, or excessive moisture will lead to rotten roots, leaves will turn yellow.

Disease and insect control: Begonia in the high temperature and dry period, prone to root rot and stem rot. In the early stage, water should be controlled in time and carbendazim should be sprayed for control. Continuous use for a period of time can see the curative effect.

The experience of breeding Begonia: 1. Selection of seedlings. When purchasing seedlings, the seedlings with large and complete leaves at the base and buds or branches at the axils of leaves should be selected. This kind of seedling has the characteristics of strong growth potential, many branches and flower propagation.

2. Keep warm in winter. Crabapple is afraid of cold, so we should do a good job of cold prevention and warmth preservation as soon as possible. Before the frost, move the basin to the south of the room. When the cold wave comes, cover it with plastic bags, and then remove it after the sun comes out the next day. Do not put it beside the heater, or the leaves will be burnt. Pay attention to ventilation in the air-conditioned room.

3. Cooling and ventilation in summer. In summer, the basin should be placed in a cool and ventilated place, and the temperature should be controlled below 30 ℃. It is forbidden to be burned by direct light.

4. Fertilizer and water management. In the growing season, thin liquid fertilizer shall be applied once every 10 days or so. When the flower bud is formed, quick acting P-K fertilizer shall be applied to make the flower bright. When watering, it is necessary to know the dryness and permeability, pay attention to the degree of moisture preservation, and often spray water on the leaf surface, especially in hot summer and dry winter. It is better for basin soil to be slightly dry in summer and winter. Avoid rain.
