Apple applied for wireless display patent to realize wireless charging

According to foreign media reports, although Apple has always despised hybrid display devices such as laptops and tablets, the patent released today by the U.S. patent and Trademark Office shows that apple is studying devices suitable for wireless display of laptops and tablets.

The patent, titled 'wireless display screen for electronic devices', describes a hybrid device of tablet and notebook, with the display screen removable from the base, the report said. Unlike similar products from other manufacturers, Apple's hybrid tablet and notebook device supports wireless display technology. That means it supports wireless charging.

Apple's patent says: 'the base contains a processor, a wireless chip and a power supply. The display screen includes a screen for outputting video, another chip for communicating with the base wireless chip, and a wireless power chip for exchanging energy with the base power supply. The wireless chip of the base sends data from the processor to the display screen, while the power supply of the base wirelessly transmits energy to the display screen. '

The laptop and tablet hybrid device is not Apple's original. Lenovo's yoga and Dell's xps12 are both such products. Last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook also derided the device as a 'compromise'. People in the industry speculate that Apple may not use this patent to develop new products, or it will launch a new product that is better than the existing products

Apple has been keen on wireless technology in the past. In 2011, it applied for a patent for wireless charging, allowing users to place IOS devices next to computer systems for charging. Last year, the company applied for another patent for wireless charging equipment. Last month, apple applied for wireless charging technology using smart cover.
