How to distinguish a baby's pneumonia from a cold

Pneumonia is a serious threat to the baby's health, because it is very similar to the symptoms of the cold, so it is easy to be confused, so as to delay the illness. Therefore, it is necessary for parents to master the preliminary identification knowledge of these two common diseases.

1. See if the baby's diet is normal

When the baby has a cold, he has a normal diet, or less food and less milk. However, when suffering from pneumonia, appetite decreased significantly, and people did not eat or milk, or cried because of suffocation.

2. Look at the baby's mental state

When the baby has a cold, he is in a good mental state and can play. When the baby pneumonia, the mental state is not good, often fidgety, crying uneasy or drowsy, ventilation and so on.

3. See if it's difficult to cough and breathe

Most babies with pneumonia have cough or asthma, and the degree is relatively heavy, which often causes dyspnea. The cough or asthma caused by cold and bronchitis is generally mild and will not cause dyspnea. Dyspnea is characterized by suffocation, one on each side of the alae (incitement of the alae), and purple lips, indicating that the condition is serious and cannot be delayed.
