How to do food sterilization?

In order to eat healthy food safely, sometimes you should get rid of bacteria before eating. There are two ways to choose. One is to choose the sterilized food in the supermarket, and the other is to disinfect the food through food processing and cleaning.

1. Chicken

Question: after the study of 484 chickens, 42% of them were infected by Campylobacter and 12% by Salmonella. The latest survey found that each American eats 70 pounds (35 kg) of chicken a year, more than beef, pork and native chicken.

Supermarket avoid way: choose those free range chicken farm. These chickens live in a larger place, and the number of slaughters is also less, so the safety is higher.

Family avoidance: in order to avoid food poisoning, after buying the raw meat back, soak it with water first, instead of putting it directly in the baking dish. This can avoid cross infection between chicken and other foods. When cutting meat, remember to clean the knife and the cutting board.

2. Minced beef

Question: after investigating the meat in hamburger, it is found that it contains 53% Clostridium perfringens, 30% Staphylococcus and 12% Listeria.

Supermarket avoid way: in the supermarket purchase, choose those after radiation treatment of ground beef, general packaging will be printed with the logo after radiation treatment.

Family avoidance: adding fresh cooking oil to beef can prevent the growth of E. coli.

3. Oysters

Problem: oysters contain norovirus, Campylobacter and Vibrio, which cause diarrhea.

How to avoid in supermarket: buy fresh oysters processed by chef.

Family avoidance: it's very simple, just eat cooked oysters. If you must eat raw oysters, read the purchase advice carefully.

4. Eggs

Problem: Although pasteurization has reduced the amount of Salmonella to a very low level, there are still bacteria in eggs. When eating in a restaurant, you should choose fried eggs.

Supermarket avoid way: pay attention to the cardboard box containing eggs, as long as you find the words after high temperature disinfection, but also pay attention to the validity period. Check each egg for cracks, because bacteria can easily get in.

Family avoidance: put the eggs in the carton, and then put them in the coolest place in the refrigerator. Remember to wash your hands after beating eggs.

5. Hami melon

Question: the study found that 3.5% of cantaloupes contain Salmonella and Shigella. Because Hami melon is usually eaten raw, bacteria will directly enter your intestines.

Supermarket avoid way: buy the whole Hami melon, because the cut melon is easy to let bacteria into.

Family avoidance: wash the melon with detergent for 15 to 30 seconds before eating, and then rinse it with tap water.

6. Cold dish

Problem: studies have found that cold dishes can easily breed Listeria, because Listeria is more likely to breed in cold environments.

Supermarket avoid way: avoid the choice of Deli cold dishes.

Family avoidance: spread mustard on a sandwich because it kills 90% of Listeria, Escherichia coli and Salmonella in two hours.
