Self care of elderly patients with coronary heart disease

Coronary heart disease is one of the most common diseases in the elderly. The main manifestations of coronary heart disease are chest distress and precordial pain (angina). Chest tightness is frequent. Patients often feel tightness or compression. Angina pectoris is paroxysmal. Most of the pain areas are in the middle of the chest (behind the sternum), which can radiate to the pharynx, left shoulder and left arm. Each pain attack is usually one to several minutes. Most of the inducing factors of angina pectoris are emotional or physical activity. If myocardial infarction occurs in patients with coronary heart disease, the nature of pain is similar to that of angina, but the degree of pain is more intense; the duration of pain is longer, often several hours or even one or two days; the range of pain is also wider, which can affect the left anterior chest and even the upper abdomen. It may be accompanied by shock, heart failure and arrhythmia.

In order to prevent and delay the disease, self-care should:

First, pay attention to personal mental health. Ease of mind is the guarantee of maintaining physical and mental health. Rage and tension can make sympathetic nerve highly ready, increase the content of catecholamine in blood, act on blood vessels, cause the rise of blood vessel systolic pressure, increase the oxygen consumption of heart muscle, and patients with original coronary heart disease can suddenly induce angina pectoris. Therefore, patients with coronary heart disease should try to avoid emotional excitement, mental tension, as well as joy and sorrow, and try to maintain emotional stability in daily life.

Second, strengthen physical exercise and take part in appropriate sports activities. When exercising, don't be too fierce, too tired, and don't spend too much time, so as not to cause discomfort of the body, and properly control the amount of exercise according to your own situation. Such as walking in the morning and evening, doing exercises, playing Taijiquan, etc. You can also take part in some recreational activities, such as old disco jumping. Regular exercise is good for improving heart function, but we should avoid continuous and busy work, or sudden and forceful action, and do not rush to the car. When colic breaks out suddenly, stop all activities immediately and rest in situ.

The third is to regulate diet, pay attention to nutrition and health, and achieve four less and three more, that is, eat less sugar, salt, fat, starch; eat more vegetables, fruits, protein. It is better to control the amount of food but not to be full. It is better to eat less and more meals. It is not suitable to eat too much at night. It is better to avoid eating foods with high cholesterol, such as meat oil, animal viscera, crab roe, fat meat, etc.

Fourth, keep the room clean and fresh. In winter, pay attention to keep a certain room temperature, prevent cold and keep the stool unobstructed.

Fifthly, according to the doctor's instructions, take medicine on time and recheck regularly.
